Please read carefully the Participation Rules in the course of spiritual in-depth ongoing catechetical lections. Your continued participation by default means that you have read and accepted the Rules.
Participation in conversations (lections) is entirely voluntary and denotes acceptance of these rules by those taking part in them. If a participant in these conversations disagrees with these rules or the content of the conversations, he or she must leave immediately.
These conversations (lections) contain catechetical subject matter for Orthodox Christians or catechumens seeking to be joined to the Orthodox Church. In order to prevent inappropriate polemical arguments with persons, or groups of persons, who are not interested in studying the teachings of the Orthodox Church with the aim of saving their souls, participation in the discussions, either in person or remotely, should rather be done in person. For those who are participating in these talks remotely, authorization is required under real names and surnames with the relevant permission.
Dissemination of the Orthodox faith, done in accordance with the traditions of the Church, presupposes a healthy dialogue between hierarchs, pastors, and their flocks. Incomplete information, including statements taken out of context, can easily be misinterpreted. For this reason, any video or audio recording of our conversations (lections), including those made by remote participants, which is not explicitly and directly authorized by the Eastern American Diocese of ROCOR, is strictly prohibited.
Good order and polite behavior should be maintained during these conversations (lections), as is appropriate to the religious character of the subject matter. Straying into unauthorized controversial territory by a host or an officially invited speaker, vulgar statements or behavior, the unauthorized presentation of teachings or opinions that contradict what is offered for discussion, propagandizing, or agitation by heterodox missionary materials shall be prohibited.
In individual cases, by direct instruction of the First Hierarch of ROCOR (ruling bishop of the Eastern American Diocese ), members of specific parishes or monastery are required to receive a preliminary blessing from local clergy in order to participate.
