SPIRICON is a syllabic acronym derived from the English words "SPIRItual CONversations," serves as both the title and emblem of a author's course rooted in the spiritual way of the Russian Orthodox Christian Church Abroad, a distinct Russian part of Eastern Apostolic Christianity. This course offers regular consecutive Bible readings with commentaries as a catechetical teachings for novices and converts. It also serves as a restorative catechumenate for those who has been baptized "formally", both for church ministers and laity.
It is an intensive spiritual therapy, leading souls through brotherly conversations to a deeper understanding of faith and the path of personal righteousness, toward Eternal Life in the Kingdom of Heaven.
The course has the blessing of His Eminence Nicholas, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad.
Here you shall find guidance on how the names of the living or departed Orthodox faithful may be included in my liturgical church commemoration or personal cell prayer list. To offer intercessory prayer — first and foremost for fellow believers, our brothers and sisters in Christ — is among the chief duties of Orthodox monastic clergy.
Here are the information concerning Orthodox pilgrimage journeys. It is important to emphasize that the purpose of the pilgrimages I organize is not to race through great distances in haste, but to embark on a sacred journey that nurtures the salvation of the soul—gaining spiritual knowledge, deepening one's experience, and partaking in prayerful concentration.
Current active pilgrimage destinations include Italy, the island of Corfu, and the ancient Christian land of Georgia (the country, not the U.S. state).
Future prospective destinations: Holy Land, Alaska, California, Ireland & the United Kingdom, Spain, Serbia & Macedonia.
Good suggestions regarding dates are welcome.
This is my entirely independent, completely unofficial personal collection of articles on various topics. These pieces make no serious claims and are published solely for friendly readers who are interested in our Orthodox Christian faith and its meaning — not in any other, however important, matters. If someone isn’t sure about their goodwill, it’s best for everyone if they simply stay out of this section.
My personal online shop for various church-related and religious items, crafts, and accessories will be launching here soon. After all, bills don’t pay themselves—electricity, phone service, even a modest meal from the store and a tank of gas all come with a price tag.
